When we talk about Deicide we don’t talk about just a band from Florida, but about one of the first and most authoritative Death Metal Bands.
There is no denying the fact that Deicide is one of the founding fathers of the brutal sound. It is well known that the boys from Amon, the first name the band adopted, always kept their fans on the same rhythm and had offered that strong pleasure with every song they released.
In 1987 a new band was borned just to make history under the name of: “Amon”. After two demos, in 1989, Amon became Deicide when Roadrunner Records, based on a sure and close succes, proposed them to sign a contract. In 1990, Deicide’s self-titled debut was released in collaboration with Tampa’s Morrisound Studio. It was as Roadrunner predicted: Deicide reached succes but also exceeded their expectations.
In 1992, the album “Legion” made history as an instant succes. This album was the piece from the puzzle that propeled Deicide in the forefront of American Death Metal scene.
Okay, the reason I’m writing this post is that I believe I found the sickest death metal song of all times. It’s called Necropedophile interpreted by Cannibal Corpse. Of course Cannibal Corpse are known for their horrifying lyrics like in “Fucked with a knife” or “I cum blood” but Necropedophile is just SICK. You have to love it. If you don’t know the song here it is:
Prostitute disfigurement is a Brutal Death Metal band from Netherlands and was formed in 2000 under the name “Disfigure”. In 2001 they released a demo album, Disfigure. After a few months they released a real album, Embalmed Madness, and changed their name to Prostitute Disfigurement. They had a great success, which encouraged them to release a second album, entitled Deeds of Derangementand already performed at some very well known Metal festivals, like: Obscene Extreme, the Morbid festival and the Rotterdam Deathfest.
In 2005 Prostitute disfigurement released another album named Left in Grisly Fashion. In 2008 they released their last album - Descendants of Depravity. Shortly after releasing this last album they split-up.
But the Prostitute disfigurement fans can be happy now because the band is reuniting and they already planned a Western European Tour, starting on the 26 June 2010 when they will perform at the SUBLIME TORTURE FEST 3, in Castelo Braco, Portugal. Find out more: Prostitute disfigurement 2010 Tour.
As i was saying in my first post, i am a big fan of Sweedish Melodic Death Metal and it is time for my first review of a Sweedish Melodic Death Metal Band.
This band is one of my favorite bands in the world and is Amon Amarth. These guys are amazing. All their songs are viking related but they don’t talk about vikings as they want, they are singing about vikings based on the Nors mythology, which is amazing (I have studied preety much all their songs and also documented on the Nors mythology).
I’ve always been a fan of the Apocalypse, so the first song i want to talk about is Twilight of the Thunder God. In the Norse mythology the apocalypse is called Ragnarök. From the Twilight of the Thunder God lyrics we can find out more about the apocalypse from the viking point of view. Amon Amarth presents the Ragnarök exactly like in the Norse mythology but the melodic line makes this song the best representation of the Apocalyspe. From this song we can learn some other things, important things: Thor is the main character, he is the son of Odin and Hlódyn and he is the protector of mankind. In Ragnarök (the final battle) Thor has to fight Jormungandr, a “twinfold serpent” that “rises from the waves”. Thor’s destiny is to fight and kill Jormungandr but he has to die as well in the process. He must obey his destiny because there is no other enemy that can give him that “beautiful death” that all vikings yearn after(to die on the battlefield with the axe in his hands, the hammer in Thor’s case). This is my favorite song and i had to develop on this subject.
This is my first post on this blog. I want it to be special, so I think it’s gonna take me a while to compose it. This post is going to explain why this blog was created and what are it’s goals. See you soon.
This blog was created due to my passion for Death and Black metal. Yes, I will talk Black Metal, too. What am I going to write? Well, Death and Black Metal news, songs and bands. I will never speak about an album and the reason is simple: I never did like all the songs from an album, with one exception offcourse: the “In the Arms of Devastation” from Kataklysm. Yes, i liked every last note and verse of this album.
There is another thing that I want to achieve using this blog: I wanna create a big Death and Black Metal community. There is a great amount of Death and Black Metal bands and songs and a small group of people can’t be aware of them all. So, i invite anyone to write about his/her preferred song, band or album. Very soon I will create the “Send you article” page and we can create, hopefully, the best Death and Black Metal community.
